GENE WOODCOCK

EUGENE ANTHONY WOODCOX Eugene “Gene” Woodcox, of Chico, CA, passed on August 16, 2024. Born in Fort Wayne, IN to Orley and Janet Woodcox, Gene moved to the San Fernando Valley at the age of 8, where he spent many years with his parents and 7 siblings. In 1973, he moved to Paradise, CA with his wife, Pamela, where he raised three children: Courtney, Shelley, and Tammy.

Gene (aka Papa) is survived by his spouse, Pamela, and his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren: son Courtney Woodcox (Melissa) and grandson Sean; daughter Shelley Hart (Bryant), granddaughter Torynne (Miles), and great grandchildren Archie, Graham, and Reese; daughter Tammy Hooper (Rob McCord), grandsons Forrest and Ethan, granddaughter Cassidy, and grandson Chase; daughter-in-law Lisa Woodcox and grandsons Ben and Alex (Graysen) and great granddaughter Oakley, and grandson Nick; and daughter Jennifer Gale and granddaughters Hannah and Megan, and grandson Michael. He is preceded in death by son Mark Woodcox and parents Orley and Janet Woodcox. His family will miss him deeply and those interested in sharing or supporting the family are encouraged to attend services, which will be held on Friday August 30, 2024, at Newton-Bracewell Funeral Homes (680 Camellia Way, Chico, CA 95926). We’ll start with a rosary from 10:00-10:30am, followed by eulogies and sharing beginning at 11am. Catholic services will begin at noon, followed by refreshments.
